Wild and vast, the Scottish Highlands is known for a diversity of spirited single malts. The largest of Scotland’s whisky producing regions, the Highlands stretches from Scotland’s rugged heartland to its northern coast, and is made up of four regions: the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Highlands. Each region offers its own typical characteristics: Northern Highlands whiskies may be sweet and rich with cereal aromas, Eastern whiskies are drier and full-bodied
with fruity and even herbal notes, Southern whiskies lighter and aromatic, and Western Highlands whiskies full of smoke and peat with notes of sherry and spice.
